Vintage Andrieu Fres Flugelhorn

Gorgeous vintage French flugelhorn, branded "Andrieu Fres" (Andrieu frères I believe). This flugel was likely made in the late 1800s to early 1900s and exemplifies many of the finest aspects of early French brass craftsmanship - thin, lightweight construction, gorgeous high-quality raw brass, and a wonderfully characteristic dark and warm sound. These old French flugelhorns are extremely desirable for this reason. This one is clean and in excellent condition but unfortunately needs a valve rebuild before it will play its best. I am moving it along to be restored and enjoyed by someone else, as I already have a flugelhorn in the shop for valve work, but I'll regret not having the opportunity to play this one at its best!
