Description
61 Nash Metropolitan Great Project Car! It will need to be trailered to its new home. non working project car! Introduced in 1954 and substantially revised in 1956, the Metropolitan remained in production until late 1960, making this 1961 one of the last of the 94,986 built. The idea began during George Mason's term as president of Nash and took its final form under the guidance of George Romney. The bodies were built to a design by Pinin Farina but by an English company, Fisher & Ludlow, then assembled by Austin at Longbridge, England with drivetrains from Austin sedans. The later cars used the 55hp 1,489cc A55 four cylinder engine and had adequate performance. What all Metropolitans had in abundance was cuteness, a characteristic which has continued to support their popularity with collectors. This would be a perfect addition to your collection!
