2004 Ford Focus

This is a 2004 Ford Focus SE wagon with a 2.0l Zetec engine and automatic transmission with about 218,000 miles on it for sale. Title is clean, in hand and ready to sell. We’ve had it for a few years and the previous owner took really good care of it. Even though the miles are higher it was mainly freeway miles before us. Since we’ve had it we’ve taken good care of all the maintenance and the engine, body and interior are still in great shape. It runs and drives and hasn’t let us down, but there are some problems that require attention for it to be fully operational now. We had another vehicle opportunity fall in our lap and I am not trying to invest any time or money into what this car needs. This car comes with a new battery that is only a few months old and a newer radiator without many miles on it. We had replaced a few other cooling system items (CHT, fan resistor, etc) that are acting worn again due to an overarching electrical issue that I have not invested any time into. This car has also been smoked in and is being sold completely “as is” without a washing or even being vacuumed out. Known issues: • Overheating, probably due to burned up CHT sensor and fan resistor malfunctioning from an electrical issue. When the CHT can’t get a good read it retards the timing and puts the vehicle into a default “safe mode” to keep the engine from getting too hot. • One headlamp keeps popping and the accompanying housing has melted some. This is also due to an electrical issue. • Stereo behaves oddly also due to electrical issue. • Check engine light recently came on and it may need spark plugs as I haven’t checked them since we got it.
