Chimalong Jr.

This chi along is great from kids who want to play and make music. It has a beautiful sound, and comes with a song book which is missing some songs. The hammers are missing but these work fine using a spoon or fingers. The chimalong comes with an extra tube, which in picture is shown it has lost the sticker label. This tube is designed to convert the chimalong from a C to an F instrument. The chimalong comes completely assembled as a one octave instrument in the key of C. The long tube should be on the player's lett. the short tube on the right. The extra tube, color coded with a black band and inscribed with the note name "Bb" and the #7, replaces the original #7 "B" tube. Switching tubes is very easy. Simply slip out tube #/ coded with the purple band and replace it with tube #7 with the black band. Notice that although it is still a one octave instrument, after switching the tubes, the instrument sounds quite different. This songbook is arranged in 3 sections. The colored strip along the edge of each page identifies which #7 tube is needed. The first songs have a purple strip and use the original #7 banded "B" tube. The second group of songs can be played with either of the #7 tubes in place. The last songs have a black strip and use the #7 ed black banded "Bb" " tube. tubetunes notation 00 e The chimalong is a metallophone (this means sounds of metal) consisting of eight tubes. Bach of the tubes has a color band in the middle which corresponds to the color dot located below the notes in the songbook In addition to the color, each tube 1S imprinted with a number and a note name. Just rotate the tube in its rubber holder to display either the number or the corresponding note name. 1st numbers, notes and colors are shown with an Illustration. These are listed from lowest pitch (long tube) to highest pitch (short tube) in the sound spectrum.
