Hofner Contemporary Series Colorama Custom (Details in Description)

This is actually a frighteningly wicked guitar I bought to scratch an itch (aka: satisfy the curiosity). This guitar is made in China, on par with Epiphone & Squier with a bit more quality in the luthier work. That said, it also has a much more distinctive sound with their special mini humbuckers which offer vintage tones behind a punchy attack. This guitar can get jangly without any of the ice pick. It’s pretty wonderful. It comes in with a moderate weight of 7lbs 2.0oz, lighter than most Les Pauls. Compared to my (now former) Epiphone SGs (since I sold them), this guitar is the clear winner for comfort, playability, and tones. Tuning machines are Grover, so you’ll know tuning stability will be wonderful. The wiring harness was also rebuilt using CTS TAOT Custom 525k pots in 50’s wiring to ensure that maximum tonal clarity. Plus, I just think it looks sexy with the Melody Maker style body shape and all the gorgeous inlay work. So why am I selling it? Because my New Years Resolution for 2024 is to take my collection down to a manageable place. Less clutter, more focus on playing with my core pieces. So my loss is your gain. Asking $300 obo.
