1979-S Type 2 Kennedy Half Dollar, NGC PF-69 UC -- SCARCE PROOF COIN!

For sale is an awesome 1979-S Type 2 Kennedy proof Half Dollar graded and certified by NGC as PF-69 Ultra Cameo, which is a very high grade for Kennedy Halves because they were not very well-struck coins back then. Typically you find them graded as 66 or 67, so whenever they achieve a grade higher than that makes it something special. But really makes this coin a rarity is it is a Type 2 variety. In 1979 the proof coins had a Type 1 and Type 2, with the biggest differences being the form of the mint marks. The Type 2 variety is very rare because they minted so fewer of them. And even fewer achieved high grades such as this coin. So rare, in fact, that NGC has graded a tiny 2,974 coins to this grade. THAT'S how rare this coin is. As you can see from the pics the coin is in amazing condition with that gorgeous mirror-image with frosty raised reliefs you expect from high quality proof coins.
