Vintage Japanese Accordion Style Photo Albums Or Writing Book? WWII Kyoto, Japan

Both of these photo albums I acquired from my grandfather who was stationed in Kyoto, Japan. The album with the fish on it is in excellent condition. The one with the flowers on it does have some damage as seen in the photos for reference, but is overall in pretty good condition. To be frankly honest, I haven’t an idea if this is a photo album (as it doesn’t seem to have any holders, but maybe that stuck pictures to each page or it could be a book that was written in. I just can’t seem to figure out exactly what this was and uses for, but it is a lovely object from the WWII era. If it is a photo/picture album it could possible be a Vintage Japanese accordion style photo albums from the WWII era showcasing various aspects of life in Kyoto, Japan. The albums contain 24 colored albumen prints with subjects such as rickshaws, dancing, children, geishas, family life, and more. The photos are mounted, in portrait orientation, and have a matte finish. Each album measures 14-1/4 x 10.5 x 1.25 inches with individual photo pages sized at 14 x 10 inches.
