Description
This is a fish spatula, also known as a slotted turner. It is a kitchen utensil with a thin, flexible, slotted blade and a beveled edge that is designed to slide easily under delicate foods like fish fillets to flip or lift them without breaking them apart. The slots in the blade allow excess oil or liquid to drain away from the food. The beveled edge helps it get under food cleanly. While primarily used for fish, it is also useful for other delicate foods such as pancakes, eggs, and crab cakes. The utensil in the image also appears to have a bottle opener on the handle.
