Classic Vintage 1960s Howard Pierce Porcelain Modernist Deer Pair “As Found:” If you’re a regular follower of mine, last week I offered a set of three Siamese Cats that were also created by the Claremont Artist, Howard Pierce. As with the cats, these deer are also from the 1960s and still have that modernist/minimalist style that Pierce was known for. There is a faint hairline fracture on the top of the larger deer’s head. It’s not glaringly noticeable but it does take down the value somewhat. These usually go for $150-$200 for the pair. With the damage, I’m asking $95 for the pair. That is a significant savings considering these are not easy to find. They measure 6”H x 4” Across and 3” H x 3.5” Across. These are definitely a must have for midcentury and modernist aficionados. I know that some may be a tad reticent to splurge on these due to the price but do the research and you will see I’m giving you a deal.
