1. Daiwa Lexa LT3000s-cxh on 7’6” medium Falcon Coastal. Silky smooth finesse inshore set up. Throwing 3” swimming mullet with ease. Green falcon blank is my favorite Production Rod for the price. This Lexa has 22 pounds of max drag. Insane for such a small smooth reel. Stradic have 22 pounds but at 4000 size. Retail $275. Combo - $185 2. Penn Slammer IV 4500 on 7’ Crowder Rod. This rods blank is no longer available. It’s a beast and it’s almost unbreakable. Hence paring it with the Slammer which has 30 pounds of drag. This combo can do it all. Not finesse but if a small shark takes your bait or a massive red they are toast. Slammer is $300+ with tax and the crowder was close to $200 when it came out. $500 retail. Both are new Combo $325 3. Penn Spinfisher 3500 on 40# 7’ Ugly Stik Carbon Inshore. Great combo for the kayak, wading boat or pier. Reel will last a long time with a good freshwater rinse after every use. Occasional oil. Grease seems to last years. I have taken lighter carbon inshores offshore and caught big snapper and not once did I fear my rod breaking. Not many inshore rods could handle anything close. Reel is Brand New. Rod is used Like new Combo $185 I’ve had multiple of each Rod and reel and have put them to the test. I’ve been chasing big boys as of late and have no need for more inshore stuff. These are really nice quality set ups. I would fish any one of them but the Aligator gar and sharks I’ve found close by are another level of fun. Otherwise these would all be In my arsenal.
