Description

Purchased 1981 in Kinshasa, Zaire, now known as The Congo. Handmade Malachite And Granite board with brass inlay. The richness of the Malachite contrasting with the Granite is unique as usually marble (not granite) was used. Laid on solid wood. The board is approximately 15-1/4" x 15-1/2" and 1/2" thick. 16 Malachite Chess pieces and 16 white marble Chess pieces included. Tallest piece is approximately 2-3/4". Pawns are approximately 1-1/4" tall. One of the white bishops has been repaired. See photo. All hand carved. Can meet at mutually agreeable location. Preferably within 60 miles of Centralia. May be willing to ship.
