Description

Very rare Dalton TL bench metal lathe made by Dalton Manufacturing Corp., Sound Beach Connecticut. Early machine with March 7, 1922 patent casting and original brass plates intact. Heavy cast iron flat-belt driven lathe from the early American machine tool era. Much less common than Atlas or South Bend machines. Includes: • Craftsman 1/2 HP motor • Jacobs drill chuck • Cutting tools and holders • Extra jaws/gears/components • Tailstock and carriage • Feed rod and pulley system • Original Dalton plates and feed chart Condition: • Very complete for its age • No visible cracked castings • Surface rust/patina from storage • Turns freely by hand • Great restoration, collector, or hobby machinist project Excellent vintage shop display or usable restoration candidate.
