I purchased this to hoist my dingy out but decided to go a different route, so I never took it out of the box. It did not come with a winch but I do have a manual one that would work or you could go with an electric one. These are $1300 on EBAY & AMAZON but I bought it open box for cheaper so that's why I am selling it for half of new.
