Pair1928 & 1953 $2 Red Seal U.S. Notes -- GREAT VINTAGE CURRENCY!

For sale is a very cool pair of the 1928 & 1953 $2 Red Seal U.S. Notes. The Red Seal Notes are called "United States Notes" because they are currency that was actually issued by the United States and not the Federal Reserve, which is technically a separate entity. So any Red Seal Note was actually issued from the U.S. fiscal budget and not on loan from the Federal Reserve. Red Seal Notes are always fairly scarce because the Treasury would destroy these notes as they made they way back. This pair represents the first two different designs and dates of the $2 Red Seal Notes when they began in 1928 and ended in 1963. As you can see the 1928 is a bit different with the red seal on the left side of the note vs. on the right with the 1953. Both notes are also unique in that the phrase "In God We Trust" was not yet added to the reverse of the notes, as that began with the 1963 notes. As you can see from the pics the notes are in good shape, and they would be considered average circulated grades. They both have lots of crispness still to them, and the white, green, and red colors are very bold and vibrant. The notes do have folds, but they have no major rips or tears.
