Description
This is a genuine Weems & Plath brass barometer removed from the 45’ Morgan sailboat “Lady Catherine III,” the so‑called “ghost ship” that drifted unmanned in the Gulf of Mexico and came ashore on Pensacola Beach in June 2024 after the crew was rescued. The barometer is solid brass with glass front, marked “Weems & Plath,” and shows normal cosmetic wear from life at sea (surface scratches, light tarnish) but presents very well and has great nautical character. It appears to function, but I am selling it as a vintage collectible instrument only; buyers should assume it may need calibration or servicing for precise use. This is a unique opportunity for collectors of nautical memorabilia, Gulf Coast history buffs, or anyone who followed the Lady Catherine III story in the news and wants a conversation piece with a documented link to that event. Item will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking; feel free to message with questions.
