Albro by Sister Pollie on December 25, 1893. Book is from 1870. Rare find! This is a beautiful hand sized book. It was well cared for and is in good condition for its age. It is a hard cover that is made of some kind of celluloid and is etched in the front with a cross. Covers are in nice condition without any cracking. Edges of covers are in brass metal. The cover is a cross with a banner ribbon wrapped around it that reads "Watch and Pray". This phrase is a biblical injunction found in the New Testament, notably in Matthew 26:41, where Jesus tells his disciples to "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation". This serves as a reminder for spiritual vigilance and prayerfulness. The pages are not marked or dog eared. No rips or stains. Some minor color aging to pages. Pages are that nice thin paper. Pages are gilt gold on edges as seen in pictures. Fold over brass hinge clasp keeps book securely closed. Clasp is not loose and secures nicely still. Binding is good for its age, may be slightly worn. Outer spine looks good. Has a silk ribbon bookmark. End is worn off but inside is good for age. Has dedication writing on the one page as seen in pictures. Smoke free home. A little about Ruel C.
