Description

**PRICE DROPPED...** just make an offer for immediate pick up or dont., but keep you opinions to yourselves.. respectfully... thank you. Vintage G&S Surfboard - Extremely RARE I have had this board for quite a while and have done a crazy amount of research, 8've talked with pros from that period, as well as dialogued with the folks over at G, &S quite a few times. all in an effort to track down its story, when it was shaped and by who. until a few days ago, upon meeting another collector on Craigslist, i had narrowed down the possible shapers to about 3 without contest particulary from the folks st G&S. but, unfortunately, even with all the help i have had, no one so far has been able to definitively name nor confirm the shaper. and now, i have narrowed it down to two. and my previous list, although uncontested, has been sidelined. and i have a new #1 contender. i just need to do some verification tonmaybe get someone else on board with my theory. for those who don't know, it has been well documented that G&S was notorious for their negligence of paperwork back then. they have no record at all who shaped what or how many boards these shapers shaped or sold. nothing. and several top shapers were shaping for G&S during this period,.. pretty much all of the popular shapers during the late 60s and early 70s shaped at least some boards for G&S. l often mostly for extra money to live the surfer lifestyle and the pursuit of their own shaping dreams. and while shaping, much of the time they were not putting their personal name on the boards, or "signing," them. so, really the only records kept were passed down through stories about deals or agreements being made during casual weekend barbeques at one of the G&S boys' homes, with friends like Dick Weber and Reno on the guests list. Who needs records? I actually love this. Ever seen seen a G&S board shaped by Dick Weber? Well he shaped quite a few during this period. A period when major changes were happening behind the seens and surfing and surfboards were about to get a facelift. anyway, the price has been set after long days and nights of research. watching the market for similar boards etc. and also noticing just how very rare this board is. it 8d actually quite a bit lower than i have planned. mainly because i know that locals with no teal knowledge of the potential value of boards they themselves may have, will send me rude and snide, condescending messages laced with undermining insults. if you are one of those... you probably are reading this or any of this description anyways. but if you dod make it this far, please either make an offer or dont contact me at all. and although i welcome genuine expertise and information about the history or relevant stories that may add important details, i have found that over many years, that i never trust anyone when it comes to valuation. especially so called experts like auction house appraiserd and avid collectors . no thank you that said, if you dont like the price, that is ok. but please dont be rude. thank you. the price is negotiable... if you think my price is too high, make an offer. just spare me your reasoning why. it always just boils down to. you want to pay less for something you, a friend, or someone you work for wants to pay less. just make the offer and be prepared to graciousky accept a no thank you response. but then again, you may also get different response lime... ok, put your money where your mouth is and come get this board now or the deal is off...๐Ÿ˜‰ i am moving, trying to move asap. i was going to keep this board, but moving is very expensive. i also have roughly 50 surfboatds im selling them all. from $40 and up. o bundle up for a better deal. im also open to "PARTIAL TRADES PLUS CASH". things needed: newer cell phone like galaxy 10 plus, 20 ultra, pixel8 or up, ipone 12 pro or 13 pro and up. etc. music gear, mainly analog desktop synths, drum machines, groove boxes concert body acoustic electric guitar or bass mechanic work and car parts, suspension. i need my leaf springsr3placed asap. i ha e the springs butbeed shocks snd labor so let me know... make an offer...
