Description

The First Act ME501 is perhaps one of First Act’s biggest legacies, ahead of all the other models they ever released. As the story goes, Paul Westerberg from the band The Replacements saw one of these at a Walmart while out on tour and picked one up to play a gig. He loved it so much that he ended up playing it nightly on tour, which led to First Act creating a signature model for him later on called the PW580. This is a monster of a guitar that has earned its “IYKYK” reputation. This listing is for the husk only with a few extras. The brass string retaining plate on the back is included, as is the chrome covered brass hardtail bridge. There is an output jack fixed to its football jack plate, and the 3 way toggle is present with braided and vintage cloth wires running down to the control cavity. You’ll need to bring the potentiometers, tone cap(s), pickups, and tuning machines to make it you. The headstock was drilled out to accommodate Grover Rotomatics, which I recommend those or similar as the best tuning machines for the build. Body and neck are good. The neck is straight. Asking $60 obo. Cash only. Trades considered. No hard shell case or other accessories included. Sold “AS-IS,” with buyer assuming all responsibilities after the exchange. Local pickup. Answers to satisfy most thoughts and questions: * Once I accept an offer for a pending pickup, I will not change the price on you nor do I partake in silent bidding wars. * No, I do not accept Venmo or PayPal. * No, I’m not hard-up for rent money. * No, I don’t need drug money. * No, I’ve not fallen on hard times. * No, I am not really interested in trading down straight across. * Yes, I patiently wait for the right buyer. * Yes, offering half my listing price (or less than) can be viewed as insulting without any sort of justifiable reasoning behind it. * I compare my prices against all closing prices (not listing prices) through eBay, Reverb, and Guitar Center then price below that. * Yes, I can sniff out a reseller. If I wanted to hock my gear, I’d have sold it to a store already. * As unpleasant as much of the above may have read, it was mostly directed at a specific kind of bottom-feeder lurking the service. If you’ve sold on classifieds sites before, you know the type. I’m usually known to be a chill guy, and maintain perfect ratings across all services.
