Description

For sale is an amazing 1961 Washington Silver Proof Quarter. The original version of the Washington Quarter was minted between 1932 and 1998 when it was replaced by the State Quarters program. The coin was 90% silver up until 1964 when they switched to clad in 1965. As you can see from the pics the coin is in gorgeous condition. It has that gorgeous mirror-image finish you expect from high quality proof coins, and there is a bit of frosty cameo high reliefs to it, especially on the reverse. It has a bit of ghost toning to it which is very common for proof coins from this era, and can really only be seen under photography light. This is an amazing coin to add to any Quarter collection--or for anyone who just wants to own more gorgeous silver coins at such a low price. Please feel free to email me with questions or interest.
