Oct 19 1892 Business Letter Signed by Civil War Sailor William H. Thorndike. Hall & Hig? Dear Sir, I visited all of the hardware dealers at Portland but did not get an order. I failed to see Mr. Tucker as he was away. A friend of mine sent for me at East Hiram as he is quite sick. I shall remain here until after November election and will try and pick up some orders in the back towns. All person who have seen your patent pronounce it a good thing and I think it will prove profitable? Very Truly Yours, William H.
