Greetings! This is for an amazing starter set that will take you from beginner to pro, with all the eyepieces you need until you decide to upgrade to higher quality eyepiece. This is for A used Orion XT8 8" dobsonian telescope newtonian. I put this set together for a local outreach in my neighborhood, but the family of 6 moved out, and now it's just sitting. This is the ultimate starter set that can be used by beginners all the way to professional astronomers. The 8" dobsonian is the perfect first telescope as it's what's known as a hobby builder and not a hobby killer like the other cheap scopes on amazon. It's just light enough for grab and go, and just large enough to be about to see deep space objects(faint fuzzies) and incredible views of the solar system! If this doesn't light a fire for interest in astronomy, nothing will. The dobsonian base is in great condition with very very little laminate separation. This is Around $1100 total(retail) between the scope, EyePieces, accessories, tools and labor put into the scope. The 8" aperture allows lots of light to be collected, making objects brighter, and the long focal length allows for high magnification up to 400x max to spec(but the atmosphere usually only allows up to 225x mag even on the clearest nights with the best telescope before image degradation). I've upgraded the scope with a dual speed focuser(retail of $100), a 9x50 celestron finder scope with bracket($90 retail), and flocked the upper part of the optical tube assembly. The only thing it would require is some kind of counterweight to compensate for the extra Weight of the dual speed focuser and larger guide scope. Id be glad to demonstrate it for you. Here's a list of everything included in the bundle. First generation Orion XT8 8" Dobsonian 1200mm f/6 telescope. This is the original model with the 3 vein secondary mirror spider, instead of the 4 vein spider. (Retails around $450 in its current condition with the upgraded focuser, upgraded guidescope, flocking material and extra eyepiece rack on the side(it has 2 installed). One of the knobs holding the spider on had the end break off, but there's still plenty of threading to hold it in place, and once it's set in position it doesn't get touched. Optics are in good condition. 1 small 2mm blemish on the primary mirror that doesn't affect the view at all. There is a slight haze on the mirror, but it also doesn't affect views at all either, so i didn't try to clean it. If you didn't know, a telescope mirror can be completely filthy and still give great views. Cleaning the mirror is a delicate process, so people go 10 years without cleaning the mirror with 10 years of debris piled on it due to the views still being fine. Beautiful low mag wide view. Meade 2x telanegative barlow lens ($35 retail) basically turns each eyepiece into 2 by doubling the magnification of each one. COLLIMATION TOOLS Astromania laser collimater ($25 retail) makes Collimation a breeze! I'll be glad to demonstrate. Collimation cap ($15 retail) for centering the secondary(which is already done) and to double check Collimation after the laser. 23 FILTERS TOTAL!
