Description

Mexico Baja California Sur Solar Eclipse 1991. Beautiful Frank Stella-esq lithograph in excellent condition to promote travel to Baja California to witness the GREATEST Central eclipse in 800 year! Size: 33 ½ High x 24 Wide inches. Nicely framed in silver wood behind glass. Beautiful travel poster promoting travel for Baja California to view the June 11, 1991 Solar Eclipse. The southernmost part of the Baja peninsula was is the very narrow path of totality. This eclipse was the most central total eclipse in 800 years, with a gamma of -.0041. There will not be a more central eclipse for another 800 years. Its magnitude was also greater than any eclipse since the 6th century. There are few experiences that can compare to standing in the shadow of the Moon as it completely covers the face of the Sun during a total eclipse. Viewers of the totally eclipsed Sun and its delicate ethereal corona have called it nothing less than "The Eye of God".
