Imperial Glass 8" Bowl Windmill Pattern-Caramel Slag Marbled Swirl Decorative Bowl 1960-70s. 8" x 2 3/4 -1 Pound & 7 ounces. Lovely Condition with no chips or cracks! A Bit of History: "Windmill" bowl in the Caramel Cream Swirl(Caramel Slag)color was manufactured during 1960s-1970s. The Imperial Glass Company used the "IG" embossed mark on their vintage re-issued colored art glass from 1(contact info removed). Caramel Cream Swirl Slag "Windmill" bowl has the "IG" backstamp it indicates the piece is a mid-century re-issue produced during this window rather than an original from the 1910s. The iconic Windmill pattern itself was first introduced around 1911 & Imperial continued reproducing it, the embossed interlocking "IG" (Imperial Glass) mark on the underside of the base dates the piece securely to this post-1951 era as Imperial did not start using the distinct IG mark until 1951. Slag Glass (marble glass) is a type of pressed glass characterized by its variegated, streaky & swirled coloring.
