Big Water Surf Combo: Penn Battle 6000 Spinning Reel & Ugly Stik BWS 1100 11’ Heavy Action 2 Pc Rod

Excellent big water, big fish rod that can handle sturgeon, salmon, sharks, pike, musky, steelhead, redfish, drum, etc. At 11’ long and with relatively light braid (30# prespooled) this combo can launch rigs insanely far. This allows the shore/pier/bank/surf fisherman to get bait to where the fish are despite not being on a boat. The reel speaks for itself, Penn Battle is the name in reliable, no frills, indestructible saltwater and big freshwater reels. I used this setup for bull redfish in Louisiana, which average 20-50 lbs. This combo handled those fish with a lot of room left to spare.
