Description

This gentleman has a very interesting story and only few oil originals are still around this size one similar to this on eBay is going for 3000 a great investment investment Vintage Framed Floral Still Life Oil on Canvas Painting by Robert Cox 15"×20". This is an amazing  signed Still Life oil painting on canvas of flowers, signed in a lower left corner by Listed Artist Robert Cox (1(contact info removed)).  Beautifully done, great colors. Framed measuring 21" x 17", painting is 12" x 15" . Frame and painting are in an excellent  condition Born on July 14th, 1934 in Mt Holly, New Jersey, Cox studied at the Katharine Gibbs School of Art from 1953 until 1956 and then joined Mayhew Peakes Inc. as a graphic designer.  He resigned in 1962 and moved to California, where he married Marjorie Cox in 1966.   He found much inspiration for his floral paintings in California and became one of the most prolific painters of the 1970s and 1980s.  He employed the palette knife to create his stylized flowers, often selling his paintings for little money because he believed that original art should be available for the general public to enjoy. Cox was a founder member of the Art Workers Coalition and very active in promoting the rights of artists.
