Description

Selling my Old Town Castaway sit-in kayak. It is just under 13' long and is in excellent condition. The Castaway is a FAST, sturdy and indestructible boat with a comfortable seat, adjustable foot pegs, carry handles fore & aft and deck bungees. Comes with a paddle. The boat weighs 54 pounds and is light enough to easily load/unload in the back of a truck or up on top of the car. Carrying capacity is 300 lbs. This is the kayak that my kids fight over when we take the family out. Everyone wants to paddle this one! It is the perfect cross-over between a touring kayak and recreational kayak. Long enough to pack gear for a multi-day excursion while still being short enough to play around in at the lake. Perfect boat for 5 to 10 mile runs on the Salt River. It's faster than most of the longer boats I paddle up against. IMO, Old Town kayaks and canoe are THE BEST paddlecraft on the water. They ride so much smoother and more stable than anything else I've ever tried. They are made of a rigid plastic, which gives more control, without adding additional weight or bulk. Much sturdier than the boats you see at Costco and WalMart. This kayak is made from a tri-layer poly-ethylene that makes it naturally buoyant without the need for styrofoam blocks installed in the bow and stern. That means more room for gear and equipment. I've taken this kayak on a three-day, 75-mile river trip and it held all my gear without any problem (including a tent, sleeping bag and small ice chest). You CANNOT sink this boat! Asking $400 CASH and my price is FIRM. Message me if you're interested. If the ad is up, the kayak is still available.
