Description
Designed by Claud Bunyard in 1963 and manufactured by Nichols and Stone. All the chairs are stamped “Claud Bunyard” and “Nichols and Stone”. The chairs are a modern interpretation of continuous arm Windsor chair. They are constructed of ash wood. There is an example of this chair exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston Ma. Claud Bunyard was the in-house designer and store manager for “Design Research”, a MidMod store in Cambridge Ma. in the 1950’s and 60’s. The store represented designer furniture makers such as Alvar Aalto, Marcel Brewer, Hans Wegner, and Eero Saarinen. Exact same chairs can be found online for $225 each, $660 for a set of 4, $2500 for a set of 8 Asking for $280 because they do need to be restored, they are very sturdy, just need to be sanded down and can use a fresh coat of stain
