Description
Perivale Camel Back Mantle Clock. Manufactured by the Perivale Clock Manufacturing Co, Perivale England, in the 1930’s or 1940’s. Their clocks were also marketed by the Bentima Co who used the Britannia trademark, as is on the workings of this clock. As for the exact date, I haven't seen any specific info but they were marketing clocks in the 30s and 40s and one source suggests they did not survive the war. This Perivale is a windup with two ports, on the dial face for the key, original key is included. It appears to have a mahogany case, real glass door covering the face, a weighted pendulum and brass workings. It’s in good condition, although it does gain about 10 minutes within a 24 hour period. I’m sure it just needs a little adjusting. The sound is sharp and clear, bongs on the hour (One bong for one o’clock, two bongs for two o’clock and so on. It also has one bong on the half hour. Cool clock, asking $145 OBO…
