Description
Helloo! Please do us both a favor and read the entire ad text. There's a LOT of info I've included and I think most of your questions will be answered here... FIRST: WHAT IS IT? A 1993 CLEAN TITLE E250 ( ECONOLINE ) 3/4 Ton Passenger / window van w 55,900 TRUE MILES. 5.8L V8 ( 351 Cu In ) 4 speed auto trans, straight front 4x4 axle w 4v link coil suspension in the front, std leaf springs in the rear.( this was done by the famous Quigley 4X4 conversion company ) AC, heat, PS, PW, PL, cruise control. Everything works. Engine and trans work great as well as all features. Radio works but is stock and not great. NEXT: WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT? My biggest complaint is it gets only 11-12 MPG, and has a 20 gallon gas tank, which limits its range. Here in CA w gas @ $5.75 a gallon, the MPG hurts a bit. But maybe gas is cheaper where you are..I believe 36 gallon tanks are available that bolt in which would get you much better range..the body has some rust underneath from salt used on Utah roads, but not bad at all. NO rust coming thru quarter panels, etc. It DOES have significant rust on the roof rear drip rail ( all Econolines do this ) because the drip rail doesn't drain and just holds water. It can be left alone or repaired ( probably ) by grinding out the rust and fixing it with fiberglass... WHY AM I SELLING IT? OK, please read this carefully...this is a 49 state emissions van. It is LEGAL in all states except CA. I bought this from a utility company in Utah ( Utah Power and Light ) and when I bought it, the catalytic converter(s) had been stolen. I flew there to drive it home, I drove to a local muffler shop, and had the Y pipe ( from both exhaust manifolds to the cat ) replaced, a new O2 sensor, and a NEW ( 49 state ) catalytic converter. They didn't even HAVE a CA. compliant catalytic, so I made it Utah legal, as it would have been from the factory ( stock muffler, very quiet ).. BUT, when I got back to CA., my SMOG check guy said it wouldn't NOW pass CA. smog test, because it had a "non CA" catalytic. Even though it has a brand new cat, and was 100% LEGAL in Utah, it wont pass here ( welcome AGAIN to CA. ) Next, he said he had no availability to a Ca OK cat, so it couldn't be SMOG approved. So I can't ( on highway ) register it. Rats! SO ( THIS IS IMPORTANT!!! ) If you plan to buy as a CA. resident, you will have to sign a statement ( that I will provide ) that you are buying this as an OFF HIGHWAY vehicle ( like a race car, etc. ) and IF you want to make it SMOG legal, the buyer ( YOU ) will have to retrofit the cat system to CA standards. There is talk that a "REFEREE" from CA SMOG agency can override the cat requirement if he can not find a legal cat to replace the 49 state cat. I DO NOT KNOW THIS FOR SURE, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH !!!! The other 49 states should be no problem...H PAYMENT BY CASH OR BANK WIRE TRANSFER.... So that's the story, it's a good van with low miles, could use a buff and wax, although the paint is already shiny and is the original paint. Inspections are welcome, it's a pick up in San Diego. I WILL work with ( but not pay for ) your shipper if you want to have it shipped home. Please Email me with questions, I'm happy to answer...I have 2000 + 100%+ feedback on eBay, been here since 1999, I'll tell you the truth, even if it's going to cost me a sale. Right now, I'm just trying to break even and move on to my next project..I bought a 1973 AMC JAVELIN AMX and plan to restore it. Just another project for my retirement..
