Handmade Mid Modern Danish Slant Top Bookshelf

My great grandfather made this bookshelf for my dad who then passed it to my brother.  My dad wanted me to mention that its made in a ‘danish style’ which might mean something to you or you can just know its made incredibly well and with has stood the test of time. The wood is strong, its not rickety or wobbly and yes, it's footed. It was originally the reddish color you see thats more of a dark brick red hue. When it became my brothers it was given the dark country blue w/ a cement gray stripe color on the shelf. The color was added to match his room but not change its original color that Dad wanted to keep. The bookshelf is made to house books on 2 shelves;  The top is a ‘V’ shape to allow book to tilt and you can see the titles nicely. My brother also liked that he could set his basketball there without it rolling off. The bottom shelf is a flat shelf - you can add a bookend here or simply use it for shelving. My mom also chimed in on this bookshelf siting you can run a boar across the top and use it for a flat shelf. We have another smaller one of these in our life and Mom uses it to put plants on since most of her books are on he coffee table. This shelf is very loved but unfortunately not being appreciated properly so my folks are looking to rehouse it. I hope it finds purpose in your life in whatever way you decide!
