Bought a Segway P100s from Skyten for $850 after finding them on offer up. It’s a business that’s ran out of a garage in home in the city of Chino Hills. I was skeptical at first, but felt reassured after meeting my “sales associate” Sean. Met the owner, Josh, as well before purchasing this scooter and both gentlemen seemed very professional & ambitious about where they wanted to see their business in a few years.

Long story short is this ..... if you want to be a legit business, do not sell scooters that are bound to another account UNLESS you make the buyer aware. I wanted to give a 5 ⭐️ review cause I liked their pitch, everything was neat, clean & tidy, they spoke clearly and answered all questions (since I didn’t know much about the scooter world) and after test riding it, I felt confident it was a solid purchase. They also give you the opportunity to upgrade anytime in the future if you ever get the itch to do so, by returning the original purchase, and getting store credit towards something else, which is pretty awesome actually.

The reason for the 1 ⭐️ rating is this, they knew the $850 scooter I was buying was already bound to another account, they were just hoping that I wouldn’t make a fuss. And in the off chance they really didn’t know, than you have no business trying to start up a business as if you are “legit.” I wouldn’t even have minded if I had to jump through a few hoops to unbind it later on down the road, IF I was told before hand about it. These guys knew way too much about scooters, electric bikes, etc. to be selling such an expensive Segway to not already know it was bound.

In their defense, and to be fair, when I did reach out about this issue, my sales rep, Sean, did respond back same day, but was given some generic directions that wasn’t even for the p100s. So I re-searched a solution myself, couldn’t figure out how to do it, and called again. I was contacted back a few hours later, but was unable to answer when he called. At this point, I was just over it. Why did I have to do all this extra work when I bought this from a “legitimate” Business that was trying to become a top contender in the scooter industry?

Before posting this review, I read other reviews, since they all seem to be either all five star or one star ratings, and a lot of these five star reviews seem to be generic and not authentic, but who knows.

Spending close to $1000 on anything is a lot of money to me, and if I was them, I would’ve gone out of my way to make sure I was contacted back, and problem was resolved. But I just felt like it was kicked under the rug, hoping I would just go away. If you’re starting a business, take care of your customers no matter what, even if that includes going out of your way to make sure the issue was resolved. But it just felt like since the sale was made, no one wanted to go through the hassle of walking me through the fairly easy way to hack into the scooter, and change a few things to unbind it from previous owner.

No, don’t get me wrong, I am not saying to trust, or to not trust Skyten, I’m just saying beware and cover your ass. Make sure the product you’re buying is not bound or locked to someone else. I just felt deceived, and I don’t appreciate that, especially when dropping this amount of money. But the scooter works fine, they are very friendly, the garage they operate out of is clean, tidy, & well kept. I was just led to believe they were someone they aren’t. I shouldn’t have had to put in my own time figuring out how to unbind such an expensive scooter from someone else’s account from a business that states they are legit. That’s all I’m saying here, and is the reason for the onestar.

A simple follow up a few days later asking if I was good to go, would’ve been the difference between a one star and a five star, but I got nothing

First of all, I’d like to see the seller was extremely helpful. We came here to buy my little brother, his first electric scooter, and every single question we asked was answered eloquently with detail he let us. Test drive the scooters explained all the specs definitely 10 out of 10 experience offered us warranty. I will definitely be coming back when I need another scooter for sure. thank you so much for making this a easy process.

I saw Skyten at the Long Beach Electrify event. I bought two scooters. Josh and Diego are very knowledgeable and willing to help even after the sale. What I like about Skyten is that they offer service and can fix anything that can go wrong. If you ever owned a scooter this service is gold. It’s very difficult finding anyone who can work on them. I’ve already contacted them several times and they quickly answered my questions. Extremely professional and friendly. I highly recommend them.
