These amazing club chairs by Octavio Vidales for Muebles Johrvy are incredibly desirable for many reasons. First, they are extremely rare, with not many having been produced, so they make fantastic collectors pieces. Second, they are sizable and hefty, so they are perfect for large individuals or those who wish to have a large sturdy seat. Third, the mix of materials is just exquisite- luscious sweeping lacquered mahogany, scrumptious red leather with contrasting black leather piping and button, and gleaming brass hardware. And last- the shapes are just dreamy- the curvature of the signature arms that look wild from every angle, the sharp lines of the squared off base and the shapely bun feet capped in brass. Have you ever seen anything quite like this pair of armchairs? Our guess is that the answer is no. Crafted in Mexico in the 1950s this set of Mexican Modern lounge chairs are in excellent condition. They were recently expertly restored but have had some minor use which has left the chairs with minor wear such as a few scratches and nicks to the frame. But they present excellently and are ready for immediate use. The wear is only noticeable upon close inspection but for regular daily use they look amazing. This pair of arm chairs by Octavio Vidales for Muebles Johrvy would look great in a Mexican Modern, Mid-Century Modern, Brazilian Modern, American Modern, Scandinavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Postmodern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an Apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office.
