Just added a brand new Bimini Top! Purchased in 2017 this Sabre 28 is a beautiful little pocket yacht built by Sabre Yachts, a high quality boatbuilder in southern Maine. The boat has a generous rig, new lines, and is not at all slow for its size. The main sail was also recently replaced. The jib also has a roller furling system, which also works marvelously. The boatʼs construction is straightforward and well executed. The hull is solid fiberglass laminate set in polyester resin with 8 layers of mat and woven roving down low tapering up to 4 layers at the sheerline. The deck is balsa-cored with plywood substituted in high-load areas where hardware is mounted; the hardware is also supported by heavy aluminum backing plates. The ballast is lead, mounted externally on stainless-steel keel bolts that are easily accessed in the bilge with has 2 bilge pumps (1 is automatic). This Sabre has a reliable and well maintained Yanmar Diesel Engine, which has never given this owner a single problem. Additionally, engine oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and impeller were just replaced. Cruising in Fort Lauderdale Canals is also a dream as the boat practically turns on a dime.
