This 140-ish year old piece turned out nice but was a whole ton of work! It was literally falling to pieces when I got it. It has been completely securely glued, cleaned, sanded, shellacked, painted, and waxed! Solid wood top and top drawer are not the same kind of wood but I still didn’t want to stain and left the natural color of both in a rustic style. Beautiful, but not perfect — and I wasn’t trying to make this piece of history new! A crack I glued on one drawer front can still be seen at a certain angle, the top drawer has a small part missing from the back of the drawer bottom ( covered with drawer liner so not an issue) and although it has been sanded there are still rough spots and marks from many years of loving use! On castor wheels, rolls ok, so easy to move to regularly vacuum around. Four of the handle pulls are original but I had to improvise the rest of the hardware. Works fine. Drawers have been sanded and waxed so they go in and out ok but are not exactly aligned like brand new dressers. Still good for easy daily use. Drawers all come out for convenient loading — with drawers out, base is pretty manageable to lift. Good medium size.
