Traveling Man Treasures is selling this magnificent copper Nepalese Mahakala mask. The mask is in good overall condition as shown, with only a few stones missing and a nice patina. The mask is from the late 19th century and made of repoussé copper with inlays of turquoise stones/cabochons. The mask depicts Mahakala, a Dharmapala deity who protects the Dharma in Vajrayana Buddhism (Tibetan Buddhism and Shingon Buddhism). Mahakala is also one of the names of Shiva in Hinduism.
