Description
Clean - one owner - runs great! We bought this truck in Lynnwood as a "Cab & Chassis" with the plans of matching it up with a stakebed unit. We got the stakebed from Reading Body Works in Pennsylvania, had it shipped here, attached it to the truck, and it has been a fantastic work vehicle for the past 40 years. With the dealer installed overload springs, I initially carried a medium sized Kubota tractor, but once we moved to our property, it was no longer necessary to transport the Kubota. Since then, the truck has been used to carry dirt, gravel, lumber, furniture, firewood, machinery, concrete blocks, cement bags and trash to the dump. As the years have gone by, we seem to be using the truck less and less and now want it to go to someone who has a need for an all-around vehicle like this. If my information is correct, Nissan only made 2600 dually models in 1984, which makes this a real find, especially since it is in good condition and runs so well. Over the past year, we have had the breaks redone, installed a rebuilt carburetor and accelerator cable, installed a new clutch slave cylinder and replaced the spare with an original rim and new tire. The tires were new 6000 miles ago and are in great shape. When we bought the truck, we intended to keep it forever, and for that reason, we had it painted a few months after the purchase, so the paint has held up remarkably well, especially since it has lived outside for 40 years. In places, you can see the factory white paint showings through the Light Sand Gray color we chose for the repaint. So, what are the things the buyer needs to know? 1. If it rains hard enough, a small amount of water enters through the air intake grill (just above the hood) and drips on the passenger side floor mat. A couple of the pictures show our solution to the problem - a small tarp over the roof and hood. 2. The flatbed surface will need attention (several of the pictures show rust damage to the bed) 3. The muffler is in good shape, but the tail pipe is showing signs of old age. 4. The passenger side fender has some rust in places. Aside from that, the truck is in remarkably good shape and shows no sign of slowing down. Everything except the cassette tape player I installed back in the 90's is in working order. The extras are ramp slots on rear of bed, tow strap and cargo net. Bottom line - $5800 cash (firm) – sale is for truck AS IS. If you have questions or need additional pics, please let me know. Thanks for taking a look. *Per Washington State Law: 1. The seller is legally obligated to remove the license plates from the vehicle 2. The buyer should pre-purchase a trip permit (from vehicle licensing office - $33) so they can legally drive the now unlicensed vehicle. 3. Seller will take a picture of the buyer’s drivers license for his records (not a state law). Note: We work outside during the day, so if you call and get no answer, please try again. We are always available after 6pm.
