Traveling Man treasures is selling this stunning Qajar (or Kadjar) polychrome ceramic tile from Persia (Iran). This type of tile art flourished during the Qajar dynasty, which ruled from 1794 to 1925. The piece is in good condition as shown, with some visible wear, but no breaks or cracks in the piece. The tile dates to the Qajar period, likely the late 18th to mid 19th century, and is made from siliceous ceramic and feature a characteristic glaze, and often feature detailed depictions of figures, kings, princes, or scenes of daily life, surrounded by floral motifs. Such tiles were used to decorate the interior and exterior of buildings, adding aesthetic value to architecture. This tile features a young woman standing among flowers holding a pitcher or vase.
