Authentic vintage Cold War-era East German (DDR) People's Navy (Volksmarine) senior officer's peaked visor cap (Schirmmütze). A historic piece from the communist side of divided Germany, dating prior to the 1990 reunification.Item Details:Rank / Style: Senior Officer. Features the prominent rows of gold oak leaves on the visor peak.Insignia: Correct East German state emblem crest at the center (hammer and compass enclosed by rye stalks).Features: Removable white summer cloth cover and black vinyl chin strap.Condition Note: The interior plastic sweat-diamond liner has been removed by a previous owner (see interior photo). The chin strap buttons are West German Navy anchor buttons, a typical post-reunification surplus mix.A very unique piece of Cold War history, perfect for military collectors, display mannequins, or history enthusiasts.
