The reel on this thing is still good. Just needs a good outside cleaning and a re-spooling and you're ready to fish again. I've landed some pretty nice fish on this rod (last photo) I'm not too big a fan of the baitcaster so I'm trying to sell it at a loss. I would also like to mention that I did snap the very last ring off at the tip but I had sanded it down. So it still works like I didn't even lose three inches of rod The rod is rated at 6lb to 12lb
