It has an id plate marked "MASTHEAD PATT 25A", and a second plate marked " Birmingham Engineering Co Ltd. 63 Pershore Street, Birmingham 5". The lamp is in Original Condition, and it measures 15.5 total height with top hanging bracket, 8 inches deep and 7.75 inches wide. Lamp retains it's two oil wicks, and the Glass Lens is excellent! INFORMATION: WWII Birmingham Engineering Company, UK Masthead Light Dated between 1943 and 1945 - #25 Dimensions: 13" high (not including handle) x 8" wide Weight: 10 lb. Dual Wick Burner. Constructed of Steel with Brass Hardware, large ocean going, double wick oil burning, masthead light in good original condition .Manufactured by Birmingham Engineering Company of Birmingham, UK. Most likely this masthead navigation light saw service on a British Cargo or Merchant ship during WWII. Dual wick burner produced completely of steel and brass. Has maker mark badges and navigation light function tags. Clear fresnel lens gives complete illumination port, starboard and forward areas. and would have been mounted up high on a masthead as the light indicates. The dual wick oil burners puts out a substantial amount of illumination making this an excellent blue-water ocean-going navigation light. This lamp is functional but missing wicks and glass kerosene container
