Description

VINTAGE Hammersley Spode England Fine Bone China "Princess House" Tea Set. The set features a beautiful rose motif with a black outline to the rose's pedals. The set includes four cups, four saucers, a creamer, a sugar bowl, a pot and its lid. It was made in England between 1970 and 1974. The set’s mark, “Princess House Exclusive,” “Hammersley Fine Bone China,” “A Member of the Spode Group of Companies,” and “Made in England,” is declaring the pieces’ origin. Princess House Company, Taunton, MA, was direct selling “home parties” business, established by Charles Collis in 1963. Hammersley and Co., circa 1885 to 1974, was a family-owned company with a name change in 1932 to Hammersley and Co. Ltd. In 1970, it was acquired by Carborundum Co. that had purchased W.T. Copeland in 1966. The brand was discontinued by 1974. ** as pictured the teapot spout chipped but I believe it only adds character 😁* Otherwise beautiful Set! No stains or erosions
