Description
No trades, thanks. No Lowballers. Absolutely No Shops. At one point in its life, this guitar had a bad teal green rattle can paint job and the previous owner I noticed what looked Olympic White peeking out from underneath. So he carefully removed the repaint, revealing what you see here. It was already heavily relic’d, he just uncovered the remaining original finish in the top and sides. He determined that the back’s original finish couldn’t be saved, and left it. After buying it, I decided to slowly sand it down to the beautiful, natural look it you see here. It’s a great Player Grade, Tele Custom ! - Original Seth Lover Wide Range neck pickup - Original Tele bridge pickup expertly rewound at renowned shop Ken McKay Guitars in Detroit with period correct Plain Enamel wire, this one sounds just like a great Tele should, and better than my 1974 Tele’s bridge pickup - Highly figured Ash body - Weighs 9.4 lb, and balances beautifully on a strap - Super comfortable 70’s Fender shaped neck - Neck has been refretted with larger frets, some dot inlays were repaired after the fretboard leveling - Repaired by luthier Ken McKay at nut area to restore former roller nut installation back to stock - The original Strat-style knobs used in 1976 were swapped for the witch hats used in earlier years of the Tele Custom, because they look much cooler. They’re included along with the original black pickup switch knob.
