Description

Circa 1950–1959 (Mid-Century Modern Era). "Up for sale is a beautiful, vintage porcelain teapot with matching lid from Seyei Fine China (Nagoya, Japan) in the discontinued Pattern #548. This elegant Mid-Century Modern piece features a classic central dark pink rose motif with muted gray/taupe foliage accents and a glossy finish. The edges, spout accent, base, and handles are exquisitely trimmed with bright platinum/silver accents. The bottom features the authentic printed vintage Seyei Nagoya backstamp. A stunning replacement piece or addition to any vintage porcelain collection!" * Excellent Vintage Condition: "This piece is in exceptional, collector-grade condition with absolutely no chips, cracks, hairline fractures, or crazing. The glossy porcelain glaze remains bright, and the silver/platinum trim shows zero rub wear or fading. Completely flawless." * Care Instructions Because vintage porcelain features delicate surface decorations, it requires specific preservation practices: * Hand Wash Only: Never place this teapot in a dishwasher. Modern dishwasher detergents and high heat will permanently strip or tarnish the delicate platinum/silver metallic trim. * No Microwaves: The silver/platinum accent trim is actual metal. Placing it in a microwave will cause electrical arcing (sparks) and destroy the pattern. * Thermal Shock Prevention: Always "temper" the porcelain before use. Swirl loose, warm tap water inside the pot for a few moments to gently warm up the porcelain before pouring in boiling water. Pouring boiling water directly into a cold, vintage ceramic pot can cause catastrophic thermal cracking. * Stain Removal: Do not use abrasive scrubbing pads or harsh chemical bleaches on the exterior design. To clear out internal tea stains, fill the pot with warm water, mix in 1 to 2 tablespoons of baking soda, let it soak overnight, and wipe gently with a soft sponge.
