Description

Vintage 1978 Boss CS-1 Compressor Sustainer // Silver Screw Made In Japan Analog Guitar Effect Pedal // Purchased on Reverb awhile back, used once by me Asking $150 OBO Up for sale, a 1978 Boss CS-1 Compressor Sustainer in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Released during the first year of CS-1 production, this pedal is 100% original and complete with a clean "Made in Japan" black foil label and desirable silver screw for the battery compartment, only seen on the earliest examples. The CS-1 is the first compact Boss compression pedal, offering a smooth tone, even response, and rugged durability. The controls are simple and intuitive, with a Level knob for volume and a Sustain knob to dictate the amount of compression applied. A Normal/Treble Mode toggle switch tailors the compression to affect the full signal or only the upper frequencies. Cosmetically, the pedal shows some small chips along the edge of the enclosure, retaining the original knob set and clean silkscreened graphics. The ink stamped serial number in the battery compartment dates the pedal to November, 1978, and the clean "Made in Japan" black foil label is present on the back.
