Antique Mahogany Spinet Writing Desk

Solid Mahogany Spinet Writing Desk needs a new home. This desk remains in my earliest memories from the home I grew up in and I'm now 83. It was always there so I'm sure it is over 100 years old. I remember it stacked up with beautiful warped Christmas presents as a child wondering which ones are for me.    In the early 1800s, when pianos and spinets became outdated or broken, their sturdy wooden cases were gutted and repurposed into desks and they became very popular. So in the 1920s and 1930s (Depression Era), furniture makers began mass-producing new spinet desks, often of mahogany or walnut.    Dimensions as given below and the writing top extends out 6.5" to give a 30.5" wide x 16.5" deep writing area.    This desk could use some tinder loving care and would be an excellent addition to any home and antique collection.
