Avoid This Dealer – Misleading Claims and Major Mechanical Issues

I purchased a utility truck from this dealership based on the owner’s assurances that all major fluids — including engine oil, transmission fluid, and differential fluid — had been changed prior to sale. Unfortunately, my experience strongly suggests otherwise.

Roughly 200 miles after purchase, the truck broke down and required an engine replacement, costing me over $8,000. During the repair process, I discovered that the transmission fluid was low and the differential fluid appeared extremely degraded — more like sludge than usable fluid. These findings indicate that the fluids were likely not serviced as claimed.

In addition, I noticed rust had been spray-painted over to make it less visible, which felt deceptive. Within a short time, the check engine light, ABS light, and several other warning lights came on — all of which point to serious underlying issues that weren’t disclosed at the time of sale.

Based on my experience, I would caution others to be very careful. In my opinion, the vehicle was not in the condition that was advertised, and I left the deal feeling misled. This has been an expensive and frustrating lesson, and I would not recommend buying from this dealership.

From start to finish Rigo provided top quality sales and service. I called on a Ford Transit plumber cutaway they had posted for sale on Craigslist. All communication was clear and negotiations were easily taking care of. I live 4 hours away from the lot. Rigo waited for me past closing time to arrive and was patient while I inspected the vehicle and test drove. I stayed in the area over night and drove back the next morning. As I was headed up the grapevine the transmission started smoking and the check engine light came on. At this point I was not feeling too positive about my purchase. I called Rigo and he answered. This was at 7:30am. He told me to bring it back to the lot and they will get it looked at and repair any issues as they offer what I remember to be a 1,000 mile 30 day warranty at no extra charge. I brought it back and they proceeded to have all necessary transmission work completed by a professional. A week or so later I returned to pickup the truck. Have been driving it since with no issues. As a contractor and small business owner this type of customer service speaks volumes to one’s character. Rigo and the folks at this lot were acceptional from start to finish. I would buy again from this lot and would recommend anyone I know as well.
