$350 obo - price incudes shipping Antique 10 volume set of Messages and Papers of the Presidents compiled by James Richardson - copyright 1897 - printed 1900 Volume 10 includes the index These are half leather bound volumes with gilded lettering on the spine and vibrant gilded edges on the top of the pages. (See photos) This set was authorized by Resolution of Congress in 1894 as set out in the preface to volume 1 (see photos) The volumes are illustrated with photos of the presidents and prominent federal buildings. The hard covers are marbled as are the end sheets and paste downs. The spines are straight and the bindings and hinges are tight. The heads and tails of the leather spines have some minor shelf wear - see the photos. There are no markings or creases on the pages. This set is in amazing shape given its age. It appears to not have been actively read or used. Happy to provide more photos or information by messaging.
