Description

***If the listing is still up, it’s still for sale. The price is firm. No trades please*** Circa 2006 made in Japan Takamine EAN40C in good condition with the original Takamine hardshell case. Solid cedar top, solid mahogany back and laminate mahogany sides, all satin finished. 1 11/16 nut, asymmetrical neck design (also satin finished), CT4BII preamp, pinless bridge and Takamine brand Gotoh tuners. Has some wear to the top as shown in the pictures, but no cracks and no structural issues. Back of the neck is smooth save for a couple shallow marks which aren’t felt when playing. No issues with the truss rod, bridge or electronics. The cedar/mahogany combination and NEX (thinline jumbo) shape gives it a very clear but punchy tone that accompanies vocals really well and also stands out in a mix. The trebles in particular are bell-like and beautiful sounding, and it’s got a pretty balanced EQ profile overall. I compared this against a Taylor 512CE I briefly owned but felt the Takamine outshined it. It definitely has a distinctive tone about it. Thanks for looking!
