Description

Guitar plays beautifully, vintage model Made In Japan. Info and forums lead this to be a 1976-79 pre the mass production year of these guitars before they were made in china. Has a small ding on bottom as shown in picture, price reflects. Can’t beat the price of $250 obo for a guitar like this… Only two available online and for good reason. Ebony inlay on the horizontal layout headstock (not vertical which came later as the production started to move around). Dreadnought with Spruce top and 2 piece back Rosewood Bound. Neck and headpiece are Mahogany with Steel Reinforced Adj. Fretboard is Rosewood as is the bridge. 20 Nickle Silver Frets, 25.5 scale. Has small spot on bottom of body corner that has a dent, I bought it like this and has not seen any more damage since purchasing 8 years ago. I just got my guitars back from home and can let this one go now to the next. Link for info : https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/ There’s an enthusiast-maintained document of the Japanese made Hohners and the HG-04 is recorded in there as having two different configurations - one with a horizontal logo and adjustable bridge, one with a vertical logo and fixed bridge, like yours. The horizontal logo is actually in the 1978 catalogue and predates any 80s models.
