1960s gentleman’s butler valet chair from The Setwell Company vintage antique MCM mid century modern

Beautiful mid-century butler stand or wood valet stand with chair from The Setwell Company. Made of durable black vinyl and rich walnut in elegant, classic mid century modern design. Top tray made of solid walnut to hold cuff links, watch, jewelry, wallet, pocket change coins and similar. Attached metal bar to tray has rubber protected corners for draping pants and ties. Seat and seatback have original black vinyl covering. Top of seat flips up fior more storage. Chair has tapered legs in walnut with notched tips. Original manufacturer's tag is located on underside of seat. The Setwell Company was based in Traverse City, Michigan and specialized in making butler/valet chairs and wooden hangers from 1(contact info removed)s. Condition is good for its age. Missing hanger for jacket and shirt that was typical for this style of chair for the gentleman’s dressing room, bedroom, or closet. Hanger would attach underneath the tray. Light marks on rubber corners of metal bar on tray. Light scuffs on seat upholstery as shown in photos.
